I am currently doing a little Fabric Artist Trading Card swap with some fabulous people I know. It is a Valentines Day swap ... can you tell?
I have hand stitched these so far but need my machine to finish them off ... sadly my trusty Bernina is having a few sick days and is off at the Machine Doctor being checked over. I hope she is okay, I need her and miss her already. Counting the days until Thursday when I can pick her up and bring her home again.
As many of you may already know, I have cancelled my FaceBook account, both personal and Jane Monk Studio. I will be updating this blog every week, hopefully on Mondays or Wednesdays. I have decided that I need to spend some serious time trying to build up my Longarm Quilting business again as it has gone decidedly quiet in the past year or so and it is my sole source of income. I also want to spend time developing some of my art, especially my polymer clay One-of-a-kind (OOAK) dolls.
So ... I hope I you will like what I have to show you over the coming months, please leave me a comment, I am ashamedly grateful for your comments and feedback, it is after all, a great way for artists to develop their skills. Of course it is also good for our egos :) .
I have also commenced a little self paced online workshop with Jude Hill, called Spirit Cloth (http://spiritcloth.typepad.com/) I am really partial to hand stitched, intuitive work and would love to develop my embroidery skills and all the gorgeous natural fibers I have collected over the years. Sometimes you just have to do something that calls to you. I have Mandie from Ewe Give Me The Knits to thank for letting me know of Jude's gorgeous work.
Okay, so that is it for the moment ... Happy Australia Day to you all this coming weekend. Will catch up with you all next week.
Happy Creating for now ... Jane xxx
Hi Jane, I have done Jude's course and loved it, but hand stitching is my thing anyway. Hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteAs long as we get to see what you are up to, it matters not where, Jane. :)Make sure you keep us up to date with your current boy/manny. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Erica and Lindi for your comments. Erica, I am enjoying Jude's inspirational videos and photographs. It is a great introduction into her methods. Lindi, I will be sure to keep you all up to date with my OOAK doll and definitely when he is finished. Next on the doll agenda are some little sprites :)
ReplyDeleteJane, Did you ever receive our ACT's from Boise, Idaho? They are from Barb Alexander, Lindarose Curtis, and Mary Ann Hurt?
ReplyDeleteNot yet .. But I am keeping an eye out on my post box. Will let you know as soon as hey arrive. :). Jane
