A Zentangle Tile Book Giveaway (Now Closed 1.11.2011)

Last night I made this little book using a whole pack of pre-strung Zentangle tiles and a couple of blank tiles as the book inside covers.   I have also added a few blank tiles to the back.

The best thing about this "book" is that you can take the tiles out and change them around as the clips open.

I used a nice sheet of velum for the covers.

I only had blue clips to secure the book ... but they don't look too bad.   They could be changed for ribbon or braid.
The book open.

Leave a post and tell me why you would like to own this book ...

I will announce a winner (at my discretion) on Tuesday 1st of November before 8am my time in Tasmania Australia.

Happy Tangling for now ... Jane x

  2. I am a nut when it comes to journals, notebooks, bookbinding, altered books. I have tangles and patterns on all sorts of surfaces, but I do like to keep things neat and organized, so when I go back to find something...I actually can. This is great because I can expand upon it also. Thanks Jane.

  8. I have a new baby and the only art I get a chance to make is zentangles. I would love this little book and fill it with designs inspired by those quiet moments during nursing or rare naps.

  9. Hi, Jane, I'd love to have this little tile book. I just started doodling/Zentangling and love it. I have been chopping up watercolor paper so this would be such a snazzy addition to my Zentangles!

  10. I would love to be the owner of this fabulous little book because... Zentangle is all about inspiration, creation, being in the moment, and having a bit of the inspired creativity of a kindred soul would be my spark! Zentangle is a personal experience and a shared experience at the same time and I absolutely love what it has brought to my life. This little book would be a besutiful way to share my personal expressions.

  11. Jane,

You just taught us all that there is good that comes from stepping back and stepping out - thank you. Welcome back - I've missed your creative genius!

  12. I have been wanting to learn to Z-tangle but have been intimidated by the idea of strings - go figure!Having your book would inspire me to begin and add my own chapter. Some people write novels in November - I'll learn to tangle and add a chapter to the book!

  13. Sharing your craft is all about visability. This small album would easily fit in your purse. You could take it anywhere. When you're in public, take it out and tangle, people notice, people ask about it, and you book a class. Perfect. Besides, my birthday is Nov 6 and it would make a wonderful birthday present.

  14. Wow! What an innovative and generous giveaway. I would like to win because it would encourage me to get back to Zentangling. For a while I was doing a piece each day, but I've gotten out of regular practice. This might be just the motivation that I have been looking for.

  15. What a clever idea. So easy to carry with you, and I like the idea that you can add tiles or move them around.

  21. What a great idea you have with this book. I'm fairly new to Zentangle and enjoy it sooo much. I stop by your blog often for inspiration, I love your drawing style. I'd love to win this book of tiles you made. I think pre-strung tiles are a great idea. I don't have any yet, and I often run out of ideas for strings.
I also wanted to mention that I have enjoyed seeing your macaw and toucan drawings, they are amazing. :)

  22. Hi! I haven't had a "real" Zentangle book yet... and this sure looks like a very nice one. It's a clever idea and it would allow me to transfer all of my online Zentangle designs to paper. Thank you so very much for the chance to win - especially from an artist that I admire.

  23. This is most likely the push I need to Zentangle on paper. Great to see you are becoming refreshed!

  28. Very creative and clever. It would fit inside my purse, make it easier to transport. Whoever wins it shall be lucky. Thanks for sharing the idea and for giving it to someone.

  29. What a very clever concept! I like the idea that it is easily transportable ... it would be wonderful to have with you when you are waiting (for whatever...doctor appointment comes to mind) because you can occupy your time doing something creative, rather than stewing about wasting valuable art time and going stir crazy.

  30. great idea. I am also new to the zentangle art world. When I was a little girl I used to draw things like this and forgot until I started seeing alot of these online lately. Dont know what I called what I dabbled in when I was younger but I'm sure it wasnt anything like I see online now. great art form. should I say free and great.

  31. Hi Jane! What a great idea! I would love to win your little book.

I am curious what font you now have for your website. . .? It is really cute! Is it available for download anywhere?

    Thanks, Judy

  32. I just discovered zentangles in September thanks to Tangie Baxter's Art Journal Caravan. I love them. I retired from an accounting position and never did anything remotely creative while working. It's like a whole new world opened up for me. I have been looking for a way to have the ability to draw anywhere and your book is a wonderful idea. Thanks so much, and I will keep coming back to your site.

  33. Very nice Jane...that would be an excellent gift for hostess parties....I love it!

  34. Yes Please. I've only ever zentangled on bits of carboard scavenged from packaging. It would be nice to give the 'real thing' a try.
Love your work, Z and Q.

  35. You're so very creative! I've been 'doodling' all my life, and giving my doodles a name is wonderful. I've always wanted to make a book; something handmade looking and simple and yours is perfect.
